Ingredients
  

  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced( or less if you prefer) We love garlic in this house
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup brown lentils, rinsed
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp vegan worchestire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • Add water to a pot and water saute the onions and green peppers until soft, approximately 4-5 mins
  • Add the garlic and cook an additional minute. Add the water, stock and lentils. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for 25 minutes.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer an additional 10-15 mins.Serve on buns and Enjoy!
