Why These Bars Are So Good For You
Natural Peanut Butter or PB2 (Lower-Calorie Option)
Natural peanut butter is packed with:
- Healthy fats that help keep you full
- Plant-based protein for muscle repair and satiety
- Fiber and essential nutrients like magnesium and vitamin E
If you’re watching calories or fat intake, using PB2 (powdered peanut butter mixed with water) is a great alternative:
- Significantly lower in calories and fat
- Still provides that rich peanut butter flavor
- Ideal for weight loss goals on a WFPB lifestyle
Maple Syrup or Agave
Instead of refined sugar, these natural sweeteners:
- Add a touch of sweetness without being overpowering
- Contain small amounts of minerals and antioxidants
- Blend perfectly with peanut butter for that classic flavor combo
Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
Oats are a powerhouse ingredient:
- Rich in soluble fiber (beta-glucan) which supports heart health
- Help stabilize blood sugar levels
- Keep you feeling full and satisfied longer
Crispy Add-Ins (Rice Cereal, Cornflakes, or Puffed Quinoa)
These give the bars that irresistible crunch:
- Rice crispy cereal or cornflakes add lightness and texture
- Puffed quinoa adds a boost of plant-based protein and minerals
- Keeps the bars from feeling too dense while making them fun to eat
Vegan Chocolate Chips
Because letโs be honestโeverything is better with chocolate:
- Adds a rich, indulgent flavor
- Can be used in moderation for a balanced treat
- Dairy-free options keep this recipe fully plant-based
