What you need to make this

  • Flour, you can use your favorite organic all purpose flour
  • Quick Active yeast- this allows this dough to come together and rise in 30 minutes
  • Salt
  • Warm water
  • Sugar, you can use, cane sugar, coconut sugar. This helps to feed the yeast and allow it to rise. But you can omit, I only use about 1 tsp. I have tried maple syrup to keep it plant based and the dough didn’t turn out as well.

Making your own dough, you get to control the ingredients and you can make it oil free. This is a fail safe recipe as long are your yeast is good. Let the kids help or make their own pizza. This used to be our Friday nights. Everyone got to make their own pizza, roll out the dough and add their favorite toppings. Children are more likely to eat something if they have participated in making it. It’s a great work to work some vegetables in their diet.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water 105 degrees F
  • 1 tbsp quick rise yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cane sugar or coconut sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, add the dry ingredients. Add warm water, stir to combine.
  • Knead a few times to get the dough to come together. Cover with tea towel and allow to rise for 30-45 minutes
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down. Turn out on your baking pan, use your hands to spread the dough out to the edges. If you find there is resistance in spreading the dough allow it to rest for 5 minutes and then continue. Build an edge of dough along the outside edges.
  • Add your pizza sauce and your favorite toppings
