What you will need
- Dutch oven or two loaf pans
- Dry active yeast, you don’t want quick rise yeast for this one
- All purpose flour
- Plenty of time, I love making this after supper and letting it sit until the following day and baking for supper.
- Cane sugar, to feed the yeast
No knead bread was all the rage during the pandemic, but it’s still a great go to for something homemade and extremely economical. With the price of a loaf of bread over $3 plus for a plain loaf of white bread. Now is the time to make your own and it literally take 3 minutes to put this together and then 45 minutes to bake the next day.

Equipment
- 1 Dutch oven or 2 loaf pans
Ingredients
- 3.25 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp active dry yeast (quick rise)
- 1.5 cups warm water (about 105-110 F)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt and yeast.
- Add the warm water and stir with a spatula until dough is evenly mixed and no large flour streaks reaming. The dough will not be smooth but loose and shaggy.
- Cover the bowl in plastic wrap and cover with dish towel and allow to rise for 12-18 hours.
- Preheat your oven at 450 degrees F with your baking dish in the oven while the oven preheats.
- Transfer the dough to a well floured surface. Fold the dough on top of itself- pulling the outer edges up and into the center a few times until the dough holds it's shape. Lightly flour the top of your dough and flip upside down on a piece of parchment paper
- Once the oven and the pan is preheated, remove from oven. Put your dough inside and cover with lid and return to the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes remove from oven and remove lid and return to the oven for 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Remove and allow to cool complete before slicing.
- You can use a dutch oven or 2 loaf pans.
- You can add flavors like garlic and herbs to this for a phenomenal dinner bread
