Heat dutch oven to medium high and add a splash of vegetable broth or water. Add the onions, garlic and carrots to the pot and saute for 5 minutes. Continue to add water or broth to ensure it doesn't burn.
Add the broth, beans, corn, salsa and seasoning and simmer for 15 minutes. Adjust seasoning and add salt and pepper if needed. Add a squeeze of lime before serving.
