Equipment

  • 1 non stick frying pan
  • 1 medium bowl
  • 1 tongs

Ingredients

  • 2 banana peels from ripe banana(previously washed)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agava
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp granulated garlic
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp liquid smoke
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Take ripe bananas and using a spoon, scrap out the remaining flesh on the inside of the banana.
  • In a bowl add all the ingredients for your marinade. Stir to combine. Add the banana peels and allow to marinade for 20 minutes or longer.
  • In a non stick pan, heat to medium high and add your banana bacon. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side and continue to flip until your bacon is as crispy as you like.
  • You can use a neutral oil and this will help crisp up the bacon faster, I prefer no oil. You can always cook this in your air fryer, also delicious
